Goal of ARCHed: Educating to Promote

The goal of this project is to increase the competence of HBA coaches from 4 different countries to teach HBA through updating their knowledge, skills and attitudes in contemporary sports education and healthy lifestyle. Parallel, we aim to reestablish building of partnerships between HBA organisations (a HBA network), halted by the COVID19 pandemia so that a future mobility of HBA coaches is possible.

This project builds up on the outcomes of our earlier project: “Horseback Archery Education for Sport Promotion” - ARCH-ed project (603397-EPP-1-2018-1-PL-SPO-SSCP). The aim of this project was to promote horseback archery, it also started creating the network of cooperation between horseback archery organisations and clubs in different European countries and beyond. Mobilities of the HBA coaches have an important effect on sending organisations and influence their development and development of contemporary HBA sport education as such. What we have started in the previous project was unfortunately significantly slowed by the COVID19 pandemic.

Subgoal of ARCHed

General goal of our partnership is to foster transnational cooperation in the field of horseback archery and to increase the competences of HBA coaches to teach by encouraging them to undergo professional development.

In the recent years the unprecedented technology development causes more and more people to lead a sedentary lifestyle; that is why practicing horseback archery not only allows spending time outdoors, but also increases our physical activity level. It is also an addictive way to relax and forget about everyday worries, which helps to keep our mental health in balance.

Aims of ARCHed

Our project is focused on:

  • improving the quality of coaching by creating a new methodology (“HOW2 Toolbox”),
  • using mobility as a tool for improving cocaches qualifications (in-person exchange of good practice continuously proves to be an excellent way of knowledge and skill development
  • encouraging healthy lifestyle for all (HL4A)
  • promoting HBA and physical activity as a tool for health (questionnaire “Do I lead a healthy lifestyle?”)
  • supporting the implementation of the European Week of Sport (Open Local ARCHed).

In addition, this project will allow its participants to develop their capacities and transnational networking in the field of horseback archery. The project will also contribute to the development of HBA as a sport discipline.
